چکیده
Purpose Due to the static condition of wheels at touchdown, they skid on runway, which may cause tyres burn and wear. This phenomenon occurs in a fraction second, known as spin-up period. The purpose this paper is introduce new strategy reduce horizontal force, tyre temperature wear during Design/methodology/approach First, dynamics two different phases landing, namely, breaking phases, are reviewed. Second, prevent excessive presented. Findings It found that using lubricant coolant, such water, stretch runway simple practical solution tyre. revealed that, despite increasing period, rise eliminated material properties preserved for effective braking. A rough quantitative analysis demonstrates wetting phase decreases loads effectively. Practical implications Wetting touchdown region without significant areas standing water most with technology available today. Originality/value presented landing reduced hope can inspire continuous efforts realize implementation strategy.

Reduction of aircraft tyre wear by pre - rotating wheel using
Heavy aircraft main landing gear tyres skid immediately after touchdown as result of the high slip ratio between the tyres and runway, which lead to tyre wear and smoke. In this paper, the tyre wear is modelled on the Archard theory using ANSYS mechanical transient, to reveal the wheel’s dynamic and the tyre tread wear. The wheel’s dynamic and the amount of wear are calculated for initially sta...
متن کاملTruck Tyre Wear Assessment and Prediction
Tyre wear is a complex phenomenon. It depends non-linearly on numerous parameters, like tyre compound and design, vehicle type and usage, road conditions and road sUliace characteristics, environmental conditions (e.g., temperature) and many others. Yet, tyre wear has many economic and ecological implications. The possibility to predict tyre wear is therefore of major importance to tyre manufac...

متن کاملMeasurement of temperature profiles in turbulent pipe flow of polymer and surfactant drag-reducing solutions
A device was built to measure temperature profiles of turbulent pipe flows of various drag-reducing fluids. It is easy to use and reliable. We measured temperature profiles over a range of conditions leading to accurate measurements down to y+ 10, for tests carried over Reynolds numbers Re between 10 000 and 90 000. The effects of high heat fluxes and buoyancy, in particular, were quantified to...
